4 Stars Spider-Man, Spider-Man
Spider-Man has a great costume. No doubt about it. It is one of the classics. This 12″ figure stacks up very well with all the others so far. Spider-Man in thin but muscular, has tons of detail in his sculpt and a good amount of articulation. The only real downside is that, due to his thinness, he is a bit tougher than usual to balance in good standing poses but if you work with it you can still pull off some good looking ones.
Toybiz was very imaginative with the packaging too and it’s cool to see him upside down in the package. I’m not a fan of unmasked superheroes and this one is no exception for me in the variant version. The face of the variant looked very bland to me with a defeated look upon his face. The mask on version is spot on though.
Of course he comes with his Evolution of an Icon poster book but that’s about it on accessories. His articulation does extend to four articulated fingers on each hand for those web-slinging poses and he looks awesome next to Venom from series 2. A solid value at $15 - $17 which is the retail price.
